While we are on knots lets see where it leads! Being a Musky hunter in "the off season" I have naturally brought my super braids with me and along with this came a problem, making a knot that will hold the flurocarbon leader to braid. All of the options that I tried had a bad habit of slipping at the worst time. The knots that held were so bulky that they just did not pass well through the rod guides.
My solution was to use the good ole Bimini Twist in my braid and learn to make Double Splice wind-on leaders with hollow core Power Pro and flurocarbon of 50# to 90# then just use a loop to loop connection. Problem solved without a knot failure on over 30 tarpon from 60 to 180 lb. The best part is the ease that this knot passes through guides! Any other ideas out there?
